Juddmonte look to have another star in their midst after Sun Maiden, a Frankel half-sister to multiple Group 1 heroine Midday, broke her maiden in emphatic fashion at Salisbury.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained filly had made one start as a two-year-old in December of last year where she finished fourth on the all-weather at Wolverhampton.

She has clearly blossomed over the winter and holds an entry in next month's Oaks - a race in which Midday finished a head behind Sariska in 2009 - and has only enhanced her claims for glory.

Midday has since joined the broodmare ranks at Juddmonte and is the dam of Group 3 winner Midterm and the Listed-winning Mori.

Sun Maiden is also a half-sister to the Group 3 winner Hot Snap and Listed winner Midsummer Sun. She is out of the Kingmambo mare Midsummer, herself a half-sister to 1997 Oaks winner Reams Of Verse, dual Group 1 hero Elmaamul. Further back on the page is 2,000 Guineas hero Zafonic.
