French Classic hope Dalma to be unleashed at Longchamp
Three-year-old Dubawi filly is out of Prix de l'Opera scorer Dalkala
Less than five years have passed since Dalkala made her Group 1 breakthrough in the 2013 Prix de l'Opera, after a late flourish saw her win by the narrowest of margins from Tasaday.
On Thursday, her first foal will be unleashed by Alain de Royer-Dupre in the Prix de Sevres maiden for three-year-old fillies at Longchamp (2.50 local time/1.50 BST).
The only debutante in the seven-runner field, Dalma holds future entries in the Prix Saint-Alary and Prix de Diane - the latter a race in which Dalkala was not disgraced when fifth to fellow Aga Khan runner Valyra.
The mount of Christophe Soumillon, Dalkala has some catching up to do on her dam, who made a winning debut in October of her two-year-old campaign.
Dalma has a two-year-old Invincible Spirit half-brother and hails from an amazing Aga Khan family.
Dalkala is out of Group 3-winning miler Daltaya, who in turn is out of Daltaiyma, a winning sister to the brilliant Daylami and half-sister to Dalakhani and three other stakes winners.
