Frankel half-sister to Lope De Vega declared for Saint-Cloud maiden
Nine runners to take part in the Prix Calandria
There will be no excuses for Lady Frankel based on pedigree if she fails to perform in the nine-runner Prix Calandria at Saint-Cloud at 2.05pm local time (1.05pm GMT) on Sunday.
A Gestut Ammerland homebred, Lady Frankel is trained by Andre Fabre and will be ridden by Pierre-Charles Boudot, whose family bred this week's Triumph Hurdle winner Defi Du Seuil.
As her name suggests, the three-year-old is by the unbeaten superstar Frankel out of Lady Vettori, dam of four runners with an RPR of 100 or more including Lope De Vega, a dual Classic winner who stands at Ballylinch Stud.
Lady Vettori has produced eight winners from 12 foals, and is also responsible for Group 3 scorer Bal De La Rose and Listed winner Lord of the Land.
She also has a two-year-old filly by Frankel and a yearling filly by Shamardal.
Fabre has another exciting runner set to make her debut in the same contest in Queen Boudica, who will be ridden by Mickael Barzalona.
A Darley homebred, she is by Dansili and the last foal out of the ill-fated Satwa Queen, dam of two winners to date including the Listed-winning Important Time and the three-time scorer Satwa Story.
Trained by Jean De Roualle, Satwa Queen was a dual winner of the Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville and enjoyed a win at the highest level in the Prix de l'Opera.
Completing the trio of newcomers in the nine-runner field is Nasmah, a daughter of Makfi and the Oasis Dream mare Mahirah, who won a minor race at Le Touquet.
She is trained by Freddie Head and will be the mount of Olivier Peslier.
