First run for regally bred Love Conquers
Deep Impact filly a sister to Classic winner Deep Brillante
When David Redvers raided the 2014 JRHA Select Sale in Japan on behalf of owners Qatar Racing, he returned with a Deep Impact yearling and six of his foals. Of those foals, only Fierce Impact managed to win at two, in a mile maiden at Yarmouth last October.
However, much more is expected of them at three, with Redvers quoted in the meantime as having said: "None of these Deep Impacts would you expect to be early.
"They are types for the second half of the season who are all very much thought of as being mile and a quarter, mile and a half three-year-olds."
With that in mind, Love Conquers jumps out as an interesting contender in the 1m2f three-year-old fillies' maiden at Sandown on Friday (4.35pm).
She will be ridden by Fran Berry for trainer Ralph Beckett, and is one of three debutantes in the nine-runner field.
The Deep Impact filly was bought by Redvers for ¥78,000,000 (£544,000/€645,000) and is a sister to Deep Brillante, the Grade 3-placed Hubble Bubble, and two other winners. She is also a half-sister to another winner by Dance In The Dark.
Deep Brillante followed in the footsteps of his sire by winning the Japanese Derby, and now stands alongside him at Shadai Stallion Station.
Love Conquers is out of the Loup Sauvage mare Love And Bubbles, a half-sister to Jeune Dream who was Listed-placed in Italy. They in turn are out of a half-sister to the Japan Cup second That's A Plenty.
Love And Bubbles has also produced a two-year-old Deep Impact colt, and a yearling Orfevre colt.
