First offspring for European champion Almanzor and Decorated Knight
Darley duo Ribchester and Profitable also fathers for the first time
Haras d'Etreham has welcomed the first foal by Almanzor, the champion three-year-old colt in Europe in 2016, with the arrival of a filly out of the unraced Pivotal mare Quara, a daughter of Listed-winning Dubawi mare Quanzhou.
"She is the first foal out of the mare and is well put together with a lot of quality," said Haras d'Etreham's Nicolas de Chambure of the filly, who arrived at Etreham on January 10.
Almanzor, a six-year-old son of Wootton Bassett, was a smart two-year-old winning his first three starts including the Listed Criterium de Bordeaux in October 2015.
On his seasonal reappearance, he was a close third to Dicton in the Group 3 Prix de Fontainebleau at Chantilly and proceded to win his next five races as a three-year-old, taking in the Prix du Jockey Club and the Champion Stakes in Britain and Ireland.
He returned as a four-year-old, but his only start saw him finish a creditable fifth in the Group 3 Prix Gontaut-Biron at Deauville.

Ribchester, a six-year-old son of Iffraaj who struck four times in Group 1 mile contests, had two foals arrive on January 14 out of the mares Disclose and Lever Park.
Winning Dansili mare Disclose is already the dam of Listed winner Encrypted and five-time winner Impart and produced a chestnut colt at Skara Stud in County Meath.
"He has good bone and lots of substance," said breeder Derek Gibbons.
Lever Park, a half-sister to two Group winners, also safely delivered a Ribchester filly at Highfield Farm bred by David and Emma Armstrong - who notably purchased Ribchester as a yearling and campaigned him in the earlier part of his two-year-old season.
Ribchester's four wins at the highest level came in the Prix Jacques Le Marois, Lockinge, Prix du Moulin and Queen Anne Stakes, and earned him the title of joint champion three-year-old miler in Europe and outright champion older miler in Europe at four.
Meanwhile Profitable's breeder Con Harrington welcomed the first foal by the sire - a filly out of the multiple winner Roxelana.
John Walsh, bloodstock agent for Con Harrington, said: "We're delighted with the filly - she is a good size with a lot of presence like her sire."
Profitable showed his best form at four and five, defeating Cotai Glory by a neck in the 2016 King's Stand Stakes and finishing second to supreme filly Lady Aurelia the following year.
The seven-year-old son of Invincible Spirit also won the Group 2 Temple Stakes at four and the Group 2 King George Stakes at five.
Decorated Knight, the multiple Group 1-winning son of Galileo from the family of Giant's Causeway, also has his first foal on the ground.
The colt, who is out of Lawman mare Charming Loza, was born on January 15 at Bechmann Stud in Denmark.
Charming Loza is a sister to black-type mare Bournemouth Belle and hails from the family of Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Just The Judge.
Breeder Hanne Bechmann described the colt as being "very striking, strong and well made".
Decorated Knight was an accomplished performer from three to five, winning the Group 2 Joel Stakes at Newmarket at three and Group 3 Meld Stakes at Leopardstown at four. He improved again at five and recorded a hat-trick of top-flight wins in the Jebel Hatta, Tattersalls Gold Cup and Irish Champion Stakes.
