Cannock Chase: trained by Sir Michael Stoute to win five races
1 of 1

Grade 1 winner Cannock Chase had his first foal born in the early hours of Friday morning at Worsall Grange Stud in North Yorkshire.

Bred by Killashee House, the colt is out of the unraced Sinndar mare Coveted, who is a half-sister to Group 1 scorer Excellent Art and is from the family of Group 2 winner Painted Cliffs.

Aaron Anderson, bloodstock manager at Worsall Grange, said: "He's a big strong colt who is bay like his father and is very correct with real good looks."

Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Cannock Chase, a son of Lemon Drop Kid, won five races including the Canadian International Stakes in 2015 and the previous season's Tercentenary Stakes. He will stand the upcoming breeding season at Worsall Grange at a fee of £3,000.
