Golden Horn retired to Dalham Hall Stud following an outstanding season that saw him land the Derby, the Eclipse, the Irish Champion Stakes and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

On Monday, La Dorotea provided Golden Horn with his first foal, a colt born two weeks early at Deerfield Farm in Newmarket.

La Dorotea is a sister to Group 1 Prix Saint Alary winner Jemayel and a half-sister to Grade 1 hero in Mast Track and Listed scorer Redbrook.

Golden Horn's first filly was born on Tuesday at Anthony Oppenheimer's Hascombe and Valiant Stud, in whose colours Golden Horn raced.

She is out of the Royal Applause mare Hoyam, a smart juvenile who landed the Listed Roses Stakes and finished second to Ceiling Kitty in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
