Welsh businessman Guy Leach and friend Roger Knox bred Listed Ascendant Stakes winner Pyledriver, the first foal from a mare he bought for a completely different purpose. Leach told RP Bloodstock about his experience.


How did you come about getting into breeding?

His dam La Pyle was bought for us off the Flat in France, by Philip Hobbs, to go hurdling. A decent middle-distance performer, she won twice and was rated in the mid-80s.
