Excelebration extends run with first stakes winner down under
Saint Patricks Day lands the Listed Dalrello Stakes on Saturday
Fresh from being represented by a first Group winner in the northern hemisphere by Barney Roy in the Greenham Stakes last week, Excelebration supplied his first stakes winner in Australia on Saturday.
Saint Patricks Day, trained by Chris Munce and ridden by Ron Stewart, produced a strong finish to land the Listed Dalrello Stakes at Eagle Farm by a neck from the Ad Valorem gelding Capital Gain.
The colt was picked up by his trainer for A$55,000 at Book 2 of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in 2016 and he is the second foal out of the winning Dahere mare Danahere. The dam is a half-sister to Group 3 scorer Amexed and is from the family of dual Group 1 winner Calm Harbour.
Excelebration, who notched three victories at the highest level on the racetrack, shuttled to Coolmore's Australia base for four seasons.
In the northern hemisphere he is also the sire of the Group-placed pair Fulminato and Pellucid and he is standing the current breeding season at Coolmore at a fee of €10,000.
