Eqtidaar 'proving a consummate professional' with first mares in foal
Commonwealth Cup hero has embarked on his second career at Nunnery Stud
High-class sprinter Eqtidaar is reportedly proving a consummate professional in his new career as a stallion, with his first three mares scanned in foal.
Shadwell stud director Richard Lancaster said: “Eqtidaar has taken to his new role exceptionally well and has been incredibly straightforward in the breeding shed.
"At this early stage, it appears he’s a very fertile horse and we look forward to a long and successful breeding season.”
Eqtidaar was a two and a half-length winner on his debut at two and landed the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot at three, beating the likes of Sands Of Mali, Invincible Army and Sands Of Mali.
By influential sire of sires Invincible Spirit and a half-brother to Hungerford Stakes winner and 2,000 Guineas runner-up Massaat, he is standing his first season at Nunnery Stud at a fee of £6,500.
Eqtidaar and the other Shadwell stallions Muhaarar, Mukhadram and Tasleet are available to view at Nunnery Stud by appointment.
