Classy sprinter Pearl Secret, standing his first season at Bucklands Farm and Stud in Gloucestershire, has had eight mares scanned in foal.

The mares include the multiple French stakes-placed Spectrum mare Kezia; Indigo Beat, a placed Tamayuz half-sister to Royal Ascot winner Habaayib; and Winning Return, a well-bred Exceed And Excel mare purchased at the Tattersalls February Sale for 40,000gns.

Pearl Secret currently has a book of around 80 mares including 15 black-type performers or producers of black-type performers.

The eight-year-old son of Compton Place was a regular face in the top sprints and his finest hour came when he landed the Group 2 Temple Stakes aged six in 2015. He also finished third to Sole Power in the King's Stand Stakes.

Roisin Close of Bucklands Farm and Stud said: "I'm thrilled with Pearl Secret's start at stud. He has taken to the job with aplomb and is flourishing."

Pearl Secret is standing at a fee of £4,000.
