Champion juvenile filly Caledonia Road bound for Fasig-Tipton
Daughter of Quality Road to be offered at the company's November Sale
Caledonia Road, the reigning champion two-year-old filly, will be offered at this year's Fasig-Tipton November Sale by Blake-Albina Thoroughbred Services.
Blake-Albina will consign the champion filly as a racing or broodmare prospect on behalf of owners Zoom and Fish Stable, Charlie Spiring, and Newtown Anner Stud.
A three-year-old daughter of leading sire Quality Road out of the Dixie Union mare Come A Callin, Caledonia Road captured last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies in authoritative fashion in just her third start.
A winner of three of five lifetime starts, she won her debut as a two-year-old at Saratoga Race Course by nearly three lengths going seven furlongs. She immediately tackled top company next, and finished a game second in the Frizette Stakes when stretching out to a mile.
Regally bred, Caledonia Road descends from a prolific Janney female family that includes Grade 1 winners Hymn Book and Data Link.
"It's very rare that a filly with Caledonia Road's credentials comes to public auction," said consignor Hanzly Albina of Blake-Albina Thoroughbred Services.
"She is an Eclipse champion, Breeders' Cup champion, and hails from a Classic family. She should have broad appeal to leading racing and breeding programmes around the globe."
The Fasig-Tipton November Sale will be held on November 4 in Lexington.
"Caledonia Road is a true collector's item," added Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. "We look forward to showcasing her to the world at our November Sale."
