Haras du Hoguenet berth for Group 2 winner Balios
Son of Shamardal won twice for David Simcock
Group 2 winner Balios will begin his stallion career at Haras du Hoguenet in Normandy next year at a fee of €2,500.
Trained by David Simcock, the son of Shamardal made a winning debut at two before finishing second in the Listed Newmarket Stakes at three. That was followed by an impressive success in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Balios had two more starts at three, finishing down the field on both occasions.
The five-year-old has not been seen since finishing fourth behind Postponed in last year's Dubai City Of Gold Stakes at Meydan.
A homebred for Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Balios is the fourth foal out of the Listed-placed Galileo mare Elle Galante and is a half-brother to the Listed-placed Cersei. His further family includes multiple Group 1 heroine Elle Danzig.
