Dubai Duty Free winner Gladiatorus to Withyslade Farm
Son of Silic earned career-high Racing Post Rating of 129
Gladiatorus - the 2009 Dubai Duty Free winner - is to relocate from Allevamento di Besnate in Italy to David Bond's Withyslade Farm in Salisbury in Wiltshire, where he will be offered to breeders at a fee of £2,000.
Gladiatorus won four Listed contests in Italy at two and ran out an easy winner of the Dubai Duty Free at four for trainer Mubarak bin Shafya - for which he earned a career-high Racing Post Rating of 129.
Switched to the yard of Saeed Bin Suroor, Gladiatorus showed his rivals a clean pair of heels in the Premio Vittorio di Capua in October of his four-year-old season in the Godolphin colours.
The 12-year-old son of Silic, in turn a son of Sillery, will stand alongside Eastern Anthem and Indian Haven at Withyslade, commanding fees of £2,000 and £1,750 respectively.
"Gladiatorus arrived from Allevamento di Besnate in Italy, where he already has a number of black-type horses on the ground. He is a stunning horse and fits the bill for me," said Bond.
"As a dual Group 1 winner at four he will likely get later maturing types, and his four-year-old son Presley was only beaten a length and a half in the Group 2 Premio Roma at Capannelle at the end of November."
