Repartee ran out a convincing five-length winner on debut in the 6f Stratford Place Stud EBF Maiden Stakes for two-year-olds at York on Thursday, to continue the impressive performances for the clan of Zenda.

The Invincible Spirit colt was bred by Wansdyke Farms and Joseph Burke out of Zenda's unraced daughter Pleasantry and made most of the running under Andrea Atzeni, before kicking clear inside the final furlong.

Pleasantry is also the dam of last year's German 2,000 Guineas runner-up Fajjaj, a two-time winner for Hugo Palmer and Al Shaqab Racing by Dawn Approach, and the useful Parlance, a winning full-sister to Repartee.

Zenda, the winner of the 2002 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches whose death was announced by Juddmonte on Friday, is best known as the dam of leading second-season sire Kingman, who supplied his first Classic winner as a sire when Persian King was successful in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains on Sunday.

Kingman also recorded his third Group winner on Wednesday as Nausha claimed the scalp of Enable's half-sister Entitle to win the Musidora Stakes.

Kingman and Pleasantry's half-brother First Eleven, by Frankel, had landed the valuable 1m4f Jorvik Handicap earlier on the same card.
