Well-bred newcomers galore on an intriguing evening at Leopardstown

Yarmouth also stages novice stakes worth watching

If watching well-bred newcomers floats your boat then look no further than Thursday's card at Leopardstown, which is bursting with exciting pedigrees.

In the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden over 7f (5.15), the latest of 2009 Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Again's progeny hits the track in the shape of the Aidan O'Brien-trained Delphinia.

The filly is by Galileo and is therefore a brother to the Irish Derby fourth Delano Roosevelt and the Listed winner Indian Maharaja. She is one of seven newcomers in the field, including Bellakris, a €200,000 Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale graduate by Scat Daddy.

Among those to have already made their debut is Fire Fly, a sister to the likes of Mars, Gustav Klimt, Cuff and Wonderfully among others who is yet to trouble the judge in three outings.

Later in the evening, in the mile Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden (6.45), Aidan O'Brien fields more exceedingly well-bred runners, chief among them Constantinople, a brother to St Leger second Bondi Beach out of the Danehill mare One Moment In Time.

His stablemate Jack Yeats also makes his debut in the contest, a son of the Group 3 winner Fire Lily, a half-sister to Hydrangea and The United States.

Sydney Opera House, meanwhile, makes his second start. The 525,000 guineas son of Australia and half-brother to Melbourne Cup winner Rekindling who finished fourth on debut earlier this month.

In the finale, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden (8.20) also over a mile, Jim Bolger takes the wraps off, Godolphin's homebred daughter of Dawn Approach Luceita.

Out of Lura, she is a half-sister to Rockfel Stakes winner and 1,000 Guineas runner-up Lucida.

Away from Leopardstown, John Gosden introduces Private Secretary in the EBF Stallions Novice Stakes (5.20) over 7f.

A Denford Stud homebred, Private Secretary is a half-brother to seven winners by Gosden's former stable star Kingman, including the Classic placegetter Michelangelo.

Among his rivals is Roger Varian and Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's newcomer Three Comets, a 525,000gns son of Sea The Moon who is a half-brother to three winners, including the Listed-winning Tickle Me Blue.
