Three brilliantly bred newcomers not to be missed on Tuesday

Three two-year-olds set to make their racecourse debuts on Tuesday in particular have breeding to make a pedigree connoisseur salivate.

The first foal out of 2013 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Indonessiene follows in her dam's footsteps by attempting to score first time out in a newcomers' race at La Teste de Buch.

It will be five years ago to the day on Tuesday that Indonesienne was sent out by trainer Christophe Ferland to win by three lengths in a debutantes' race over a mile at La Teste.

The Wertheimer brothers' homebred filly went on to win the Marcel Boussac later in the season, which turned out to be her last victory although she was not disgraced when a close fourth to Dolniya in the Prix de Malleret at three.

Indonesienne, a Muhtathir half-sister to Listed scorer Lumineux, was sent to Frankel for her first mating, the result of which is Semera, who is also trained by Ferland and contests a debutantes' race over 7f, a furlong shorter than her dam's pipe opener at the same course.

Semera is bidding to become the first winner from unbeaten dual world champion Frankel's third crop.

Watan is a first-crop son of Al Shaqab's brilliant miler Toronado, who enjoyed one of his finest hours on the Sussex Downs when defeating Dawn Approach to take the St James's Palace Stakes in 2013 - on the exact same day Indonesienne won first time out at La Teste, curiously enough.

He reprsents breeder Al Shaqab and typifies the strong support the operation threw behind the stallion when he retired to the National Stud in 2015.

He is out of Shotgun Gulch, a daughter of Thunder Gulch who won the Grade 1 Vinery Madison Stakes and was bought on the Qatari powerhouse's behalf for $1.6 million in Keeneland at the end of her racing career.

Watan's year-older half-brother Rabdan, a son of Frankel trained by Andre Fabre, was third in the Listed Prix de l'Avre at Longchamp in May and was a nine-length winner of a Maisons-Laffitte conditions race over 1m6f last Thursday.

Al Shaqab have entrusted Watan to Richard Hannon, who oversaw Toronado's stellar racing career.

The colt is set to take on 11 rivals in the Nginious! Swiss Gin EBF Maiden Stakes over 6f at Goodwood, including likely favourite Al Mureib, a Godolphin homebred son of Dubawi who was second on debut at the Newmarket July Festival.

The latest beautifully bred Galileo two-year-old to have the wraps taken off them by Aidan O'Brien is set to be Enticed, a sister to last year's dual Classic hero Capri who has been declared for the Colm Quinn BMW Irish EBF Filles Maiden over 7f at Galway.

Intriguingly, Capri broke his maiden at the Galway Festival two years ago, when he beat none other than future Melbourne Cup winner Rekindling into second over an extended mile.

Capri went on to win the Beresford Stakes and take third in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud at two, and landed the Irish Derby and St Leger at three. On his sole run at four this year he was a head winner of the Group 3 Alleged Stakes at Naas.

Capri and Enticed are out of the Aga Khan-bred mare Dialafara, a daughter of Anabaa and Prix de Malleret winner Diamilina, a close relation of the high-class performers Diamond Green and Diamond Mix.

Dialafara is also dam of the useful Jamaica – who also, eye-catchingly, broke his maiden at the Galway Festival at two.

Enticed was knocked down to Amanda Skiffington for 800,000gns at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale last year.

Her first assignment looks a tough one, and among her opponents at Galway is stablemate Hermosa, a Galileo sister to Group 1 winners Hydrangea and The United States who was fourth on debut at the Curragh last month.
