Powerful pages give these five Ballydoyle babies the edge

Coolmore's Sue Magnier has been busy dishing out names

The sheer potential of Aidan O'Brien's battalion of blue-blooded two-year-olds is hard to measure, and the question is invariably whether Coolmore's next Classic scorer or champion racehorse could be lurking among them.

With another batch of Ballydoyle juveniles christened by Sue Magnier in the latest calendar supplement issued by Horse Racing Ireland, Ollie O'Donoghue pinpoints five with the biggest shoes to fill based on pedigree.

A word of warning though - all names are subject to change.

Vatican City
ch c Galileo-You'resothrilling (Storm Cat)

Arguably one of the greatest producers in Coolmore's broodmare band at present is You'resothrilling, a daughter of Storm Cat whose first five runners have all won in Pattern company including top-flight scorers Gleneagles, Marvellous and Happily, while her other offspring Taj Mahal and Coolmore also reached the frame in elite company.

Having been mated exclusively with perennial champion sire Galileo throughout her breeding career, the mare's sixth foal has now been named Vatican City, having previously been known as Canada.

While the colt can be expected to progress with age, it should be noted that his dam, Gleneagles and Happily all opened their account in June of their two-old-year season, with You'resothrilling's first win in a Group 3 sprint at Naas.

Nobel Prize
b c Galileo-Hveger (Danehill)

One of the more auspicious names issued last week was for the ninth registered foal out of Hveger, dam of the superbly talented sibling pair Highland Reel and Idaho plus recent Epsom winner Cape Of Good Hope.

Registered by the Coolmore partners together with the mare's co-breeder Greg Moffit, their Galileo full-brother is set to race under the name Nobel Prize.

Highland Reel, who struck seven times at the highest level, was quick off the mark as a juvenile, winning an early July maiden by 12 lengths at Gowran Park, suggesting we may witness his brother on a racecourse before the summer is out. But perhaps like his siblings, we can expect the colt to show his best form from three onwards.

Kentucky Bluegrass
gr/ro c American Pharoah-Mekko Hokte (Holy Bull)

Previously known as Hong Kong, the American Pharoah colt Kentucky Bluegrass shares his grey or roan colour with his star sibling Caravaggio.

The bullet sprinter had already broken his maiden by this stage of his four-start unbeaten juvenile campaign, which culminated in success in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh. The dashing grey won twice at Royal Ascot, in the Coventry Stakes and Commonwealth Cup.

American Pharoah, meanwhile, has already got off the mark with his first runners in Ireland courtesy of Monarch Of Egypt, a $750,000 Keeneland yearling purchase owned by Peter Brant and the Coolmore partners who won at Naas last month.

Gauntlet
b c Galileo-Danedrop (Danehill)

Having Danedream - twice champion female in Europe when Frankel ruled the male division - as a sibling means there will be no shortage of expectation when the Galileo colt named Gauntlet makes his first appearance.

Danedream, a daughter of Lomitas, struck up a brilliant winning sequence as a three-year-old, ending with a striking five-length win in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Connections admirably continued to campaign the winner of Europe's signature race at four, when she downed no less a rival than Nathaniel in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Danedream's Dubawi colt Faylaq, who fetched 1,500,000gns at Book 1, shaped with promise on his first two juvenile starts for William Haggas, and more can be expected from him this season as well.

Heaven Of Heavens
b f Galileo-Halfway To Heaven (Pivotal)

Another regular partner for Galileo in recent years has been Halfway To Heaven, who notched up three Group 1 wins in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, Nassau and Sun Chariot Stakes.

So far, the Pivotal mare has come up trumps with last season's British Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes scorer Magical and her year-older sister Rhododendron, a top-flight winner at two, three and four following victories in the Fillies' Mile, Prix de l'Opera and last year's Lockinge Stakes.

Their two-year-old sister has been given the propitious name Heaven Of Heavens, and it would not be surprising to see her debut during the summer months.
