The lively atmosphere at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale continued on Wednesday on the ninth day of the auction, which was highlighted by the sale of a colt from the first crop of Outwork to Charles Marquis for $220,000.

Keeneland sold 290 yearlings for $12,880,500, for an average of $44,416 and a median of $35,000. Cumulatively, sales have now reached $343,173,700 for 1,872 yearlings, for an average of $183,319 and a median of $100,000.

The session-topper is out of the Lookin At Lucky mare Westside Tapstress and from the family of Grade 2 winner Informed and Grade 3 winner Discreet Hero. He was offered by Warrendale Sales, which led all consignors by gross sales, selling 15 yearlings for $965,000.

A colt by Dialed In from the family of Grade 2 winner Gimme Da Lute sold for $205,000 to Federico Barberini, agent. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent, he is out of the winning Stormin Fever mare Casino Fever.

R.A. Hill/Oracle Bloodstock paid $190,000 for a filly by Constitution from the family of Grade 1-placed Silver Swallow. VanMeter-Gentry Sales had consigned the daughter of Samantha Dillon, by Unbridled’s Song.

The session’s leading buyer was agent Lauren Carlisle, who paid $340,000 for three yearlings.
