Five Galileos are included among a catalogue of 609 for Arqana’s October Yearling Sale

The event, which begins on October 22 and encompasses four days of trading, has produced numerous useful performers already headlined by the multiple US Grade 1 scorer Sistercharlie and this season’s Queen Anne winner Lord Glitters.

Anna Sundstrom’s Coulonces Sales has one of the most interesting of Galileo’s progeny among its 22-strong draft. The colt (lot 139) is out of smart German mare Night Lagoon, making him a half-brother to Novellist, who took the 2013 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes among a strong of European Group 1s and now stands at stud in Japan.

Haras de l’Hotellerie has a Galileo (12) out of the Australian champion Sea Siren, while Haras des Capucines’ and the Fairway Consignment’s representatives have an Antipodean bearing too.

The former’s dam is the Caulfield Guineas heroine Amicus (48) with the latter (81) out of prolific New Zealand galloper Fix. The final lot from the Coolmore giant (135) is being sold by La Motteraye and is a half-brother to the popular Group 1 sprinter Kingsgate Native.

Galileo is certainly not the only major European sire to be represented. Haras de Grandcamp will offer one of the largest consignments in the sale, with their 36 yearlings including the first foal out of dual Listed winner and Group placed Sainte Amarante by Siyouni (3).

La Motteraye has another Siyouni who is a three-parts brother to the top-class Volta (151) and the first foal out of Listed winner Pacific Angel (144) by Frankel.

Haras d’Etreham’s flag-bearers are a brother to Prix Djebel winner and Group 1-placed Gold Win (10), as well as a daughter of War Front from the family of this year’s Phoenix Stakes winner Siskin and US rising star Tacitus (85).

Others of particular note from the Ecurie des Monceaux draft are a half-brother by Frankel to dual Prix de Royallieu winner The Juliet Rose (77), a son of Sea the Stars from the family of Arc winner Danedream (98) and a half-brother by Le Havre to black-type performers Prudenzia and Pacifique (152).

The family of Lord Glitters reappears among the four lots consigned by Haras de Tourgeville through his Style Vendome half-sister (109). A sibling of this year’s Coronation winner, by Elvstroem, appears from Haras du Petit Tellier (32).

A total of 583 yearlings are qualified for the 2020 Haras de Bouquetot – October Sale Criterium at Longchamp, won last year by subsequent Hong Kong export Master Brewer.
