LM Stallions: 'Unique' Southern Hills an opportunity for breeders

Breeders will have an opportunity to use the Galileo sire-line for a fraction of the price, with Royal Ascot winner Southern Hills standing at March Hare Stud in Dorset for a fee of £3,000.

Residing alongside the likes of 2,000 Guineas runner-up Tip Two Win and Graded scorer Legends Of War, as part of the LM Stallions Club, Southern Hills' fee in advance will give give breeders a lifetime breeding right.

LM Stallions' Luke Gedge-Gibson, who launched the operation with Matt Huntington earlier this year, believes the sole son of Gleneagles to stand at stud can provide clients with something different.

He said: "We want to make him accessible to everyone as he's unique to the market, he's a very fast son of Gleneagles and the only one to stand at stud.

"There's nothing similar to him standing at stud in the UK in terms of price and pedigree."

Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Southern Hills' finest hour came when defeating Platinum Star in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, prompting the Ballydoyle trainer to say: "Southern Hills is a fast horse. I think five or six furlongs will be his trip, he's got a lot of speed."
