Munjiz, one of the most famous purebred Arabians in the world and the leading stallion in France, died at the age of 19 on Saturday.

Bred in France by Wathba Stud Farm, he is the second colt by Unchainedd Melody, the winner of 29 races from 30 starts and a major influence on the breed.

Among Munjiz's sons are Raaziq, Mushrae, Hayyan and Bandar, who were champion racehorses and are now leading sires around the world.

Wathba Stallions said the cause of death remains unclear as Munjiz had not been suffering from any illness.
