Kingman filly and grandson of Hasili jump out on paper on Friday

Despite having lost arguably its greatest ever broodmare back in March, when Hasili died at the age of 27, Juddmonte can proudly look back on the extraordinary achievements of the mare, who along with Eight Carat is one of only two mares to produce five elite winners.

Her legacy continues to live on through her sons and daughters, with Mirage Dancer - a four-year-old son of her Beverly D and Matriarch Stakes heroine Heat Haze - winning the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood.

Her name again appears on Friday as the maternal grandsire of two-year-old colt Artois, who lines up in the maiden stakes over an extended mile at Wolverhampton (4.20).

He is out of Intercontinental, Hasili's other winner of the Matriarch Stakes who struck twice at the highest level, recording her peak Racing Post Rating of 120 when claiming the scalp of Ouija Board in the 2005 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Intercontinental has already made her mark at stud as the dam of three winners including Listed-placed miler Abseil.

The Danehill mare has been bred exclusively to North American-based sires, with Artois a son of Juddmonte's Mizzen Mast, the Malibu Stakes scorer who has sired two Breeders' Cup winners in dual Turf Sprint winner Mizdirection and Juvenile Fillies Turf heroine Flotilla.

Artois is not the only Juddmonte newcomer to warrant a second look on Friday, with Kingman filly Desirous facing her first test in the second division of the 7f maiden stakes at Newbury (1.50).

Trained by Ralph Beckett, she is by the sire of this year's highest rated two-year-old in Calyx and out of Khalid Abdullah's 2011 Matron Stakes winner Emulous, who was trained by Dermot Weld.

With entries in the Rockfel Stakes and Fillies' Mile, connections evidently rate her highly, with Harry Bentley set to ride.

Emulous is a sister to First Sitting, who won last year's Prix Gontaut-Biron and was a close third to Breeders' Cup Turf winner Talismanic in Wednesday's renewal of the 1m2f Group 3 at Deauville.

She is unlikely to have it all her own way on debut as she comes up against Boerhan, an unraced Sea The Stars colt knocked down for 270,000gns at Tattersalls Book 1.
