Juddmonte's classy performer Tilsit the latest recruit for stud duties in Turkey
The son of First Defence won the Group 2 Summer Mile Stakes this term
Juddmonte homebred and Group 2 winner Tilsit has become the latest stallion prospect to be swept up by the Jockey Club of Turkey, following on from Battleground's purchase just a day before.
The son of First Defence was a 19-length winner on his second start on Newcastle's all-weather track at three and then progressed to his first Group win in the Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood just a month later.
The Charlie Hills-trained colt was a head second to Skalleti in the Prix d'Ispahan in May before his second Group win in the Summer Mile at Ascot in July, when he defeated a field that included classy performers Century Dream, Al Suhail, Top Rank and Space Traveller.
Last seen finishing behind Alcohol Free in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood this summer, Tilsit ultimately won three of his eight races for total prize-money of £172,674.
The four-year-old is the first foal out of the once-raced Dansili mare Multilingual, a full-sister to Group 3 winner Remote and a half-sibling to Juddmonte's outstanding miler and sire Kingman.
The duo are in turn out of the operation's brilliant producer Zenda, the winner of the French 1,000 Guineas and a Zamindar half-sister to the mighty Oasis Dream.
Tilsit is among former Juddmonte stallion First Defence's leading progeny. The Grade 1-winning son of Unbridled's Song, who now stands in Saudi Arabia, has sired Irish 2,000 Guineas and Phoenix Stakes hero Siskin, Acomb Stakes scorer and Champagne Stakes runner-up Dundonnell, plus the Listed-winning Tyros Stakes runner-up Tombelaine.
