'It's a great opportunity' - Padraic Gahan takes up new role at Baroda Stud
UCD Commerce graduate previously worked at Goffs as a bloodstock executive
Baroda Stud has announced the appointment of Padraic Gahan as bloodstock and consigning executive.
The UCD Commerce graduate, who takes up his new role next Monday, joined Goffs in 2015 as a bloodstock executive after working as a bid-spotter at the sales as a student.
Gahan's previous experience also includes working for Aushorse as racing communications co-ordinator, while he also spent time with Emerald Bloodstock in transport and worked as a bloodstock and marketing intern at Goffs UK following a spell at Ashford Stud in Kentucky.
Based just outside Newbridge in County Kildare and with over 450 acres of land, Baroda Stud has clients all over the world including from Britain, Ireland, France, the US, UAE and China.
The operation has sourced Group 1 winners such as Cloth Of Stars, Lucky Vega and Marcel as well as the high-class performers Nyaleti, Dark Vision and Success Days.
David Cox, manager of Baroda Stud, said: "We're delighted Padraic is joining us, he will be a big asset to Tamso and I to drive on the consigning business where we currently sell 200 horses a year.
"We've been growing over the years and the time is right to bring in an enthusiastic and experienced person to support us and help us grow and we are confident Padraic will fit in well with our team both on the farm and at the sales.”
Gahan added: "I'm very excited to join David, Tamso and the team at Baroda Stud. I feel it's a great opportunity for me to build on my previous experiences and for us to grow collectively. I look forward to working with like-minded individuals to continue to sell the best horses for the best clients to the best purchasers."
