Highclere offers stallion and yearling parade plus competition free nomination
Event takes place on Tuesday, February 8, and all breeders are welcome
Highclere Stud is hosting a stallion and yearling parade on Tuesday, February 8, alongside a competition to win a free nomination to Land Force or Cable Bay.
The event, held at the stud, will showcase Land Force and Cable Bay and feature a selection of yearling stock by Galileo, Kingman, No Nay Never, Night Of Thunder, Sea The Stars, Cable Bay and Land Force.
The stud's Jake Warren said: “Anybody is welcome to join the parade, it will offer an insight into the commercial breeding industry, with a broad spectrum of topics discussed throughout the day with like-minded individuals.
"We very much look forward to welcoming fellow breeders to Highclere Stud for what should be a very enjoyable day.”
Drinks will be served at 11am, proceeded by the parade at 12pm and lunch at 12.45pm.
Details on how to attend the parade and enter the competition can be found on the Highclere Stud website and on Twitter @JakeJWarren.
Cable Bay had a brilliant 2021, when he was represented by the multiple Group 1 placed and Commonwealth Cup first-past-the-post, Dragon Symbol, as well as Liberty Beach, the winner of the Group 2 Temple Stakes.
The future looks bright, with his most exciting crop of yearlings on the ground this year, after he covered 100 mares at a £15,000 stud fee.
Land Force, meanwhile, has started his stallion career very strongly, with his first crop of foals selling for 65,000gns, 60,000gns, etc. to the likes of Con Marnane and Alex Elliott, whilst also ranking number one on the Racing Post’s Profitability Index for first-season sires.
Land Force has been well supported by breeders, covering 155 quality mares in his first year and 118 mares in his second year.
Highclere Stud has been well represented in recent years, being the breeders of Palace Pier and Coolangatta. It has also been the breeding ground of other champions such as Camelot and Postponed, who were bred by leading owners Sheikh Abdullah Bin Isa Al Khalifa and St Albans Bloodstock respectively, and recent consignors of Domestic Spending.
