'He's been a consummate professional' - first mares in foal for Mohaather
The exciting first-season sire is due to cover Nazeef this week
Shadwell's exciting first-season sire Mohaather has had his first three mares scanned in foal this week, the leading operation announced in a statement.
The son of Showcasing won the Sussex Stakes last term with a devastating turn of foot and has reportedly taken to his second career with equal aplomb.
Mohaather, who stands at Nunnery Stud alongside Eqtidaar, Muhaarar and Tasleet, commands a £20,000 fee for his services and will cover Shadwell's Falmouth and Sun Chariot Stakes heroine Nazeef in the coming week.
The mares confirmed in foal to the five-year-old include the Promenade Bloodstock-owned Dixie Dreamer, an unraced Exceed And Excel half-sister to Listed-winning sprinter Blanche Dubawi, and Pier House Stud's Seeharn, a Listed-winning daughter of Pivotal.
Shadwell Stud director Richard Lancaster said: “It’s always an exciting time of year and I was delighted to hear his first three mares had been scanned in foal.
“Mohaather has been a consummate professional in his new role - incredibly straightforward and easy to manage. He has a great temperament and is particularly laid back, which is always a huge help.
“He's a fantastic book of mares – a big thank you to all the breeders who have supported him – and is due to cover dual Group 1 winner Nazeef this week.
“At this early stage, it appears he’s a very fertile horse and we look forward to a long and successful breeding season.”
