Group 1 winner Mkfancy joins Haras de Saint Arnoult roster
Former Pia Brandt trainee will be part of a good roster at Larissa Kneip's farm
Mkfancy, winner of the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud in 2019, is to stand at Larissa Kneip's Haras de Saint Arnoult next year.
First trained by Pia Brandt, the Makfi colt was an outstanding two-year-old who took his biggest prize by three lengths. He went on to a campaign in Dubai this year and had one more start back in France for Frederic Rossi.
Out of winning Muhtathir mare Fancy Green and owned by Abdullah Al Maddah, Mkfancy is being advertised for a fee of €4,000.
He is expected to appeal to dual-purpose customers as Muthathir is the sire of top French jumps stallion Doctor Dino and Mkfancy's half-brother Fancytastic recently won the Grande Course de Haies de Bordeaux. A two-year-old sibling, My Fancy, is showing promise on the level.
As well as paying tribute to his confirmation and physique, Brandt said: "Above all - and this was his real strength - he had the mind of a warrior, he was smart enough to understand everything right away and react accordingly. He could simply adapt to any circumstance with a lot of ease."
He joins a roster at Kneip's Normandy farm which includes Elarqam, the multiple Group winner and son of Frankel and Attraction, and Seabhac, the interesting young son of Scat Daddy.
