French stallion trail goes virtual this weekend with video content galore
Event kicks off on Saturday morning with dozens of stallions and numerous studs
The coronavirus pandemic has unfortunately put paid to this year's Route des Etalons - the French stallion trail - but a virtual version will take place over the weekend.
From 8am GMT on Saturday, stallion and stud videos will be uploaded to laroutedesetalons.com, where details can already be found for participating studs and their stallions, along with 2021 covering fees.
A note from the Federation des Eleveurs du Galop read: "The website is supporting breeders, stud farms, racing and breeding enthusiasts to meet online stallions stationed in Normandy.
"Whether they are new to the stallion ranks or already established, the sires will be shown through videos, photos, performance sheets and pedigrees."
It added: "The French Thoroughbred Breeders Association thanks the studs for their participation in this online RDE, for their responsiveness and their involvement."
