Divine Image paid tribute to her late breeder Peter Magnier when landing the UAE Oaks at Meydan on Thursday under a well-timed ride from William Buick.

The daughter of is trained by Charlie Appleby and races in the Godolphin blue having been purchased by Sheikh Mohammed's operation for €360,000 at last year's Arqana May Breeze-Up Sale from Yeomanstown Stud, who pinhooked the filly for $125,000 as a yearling from Four Star Sales at Fasig-Tipton.

Magnier - who ran Brittas House Stud in County Tipperary and enjoyed most success in recent years through his Irish River mare Brigid - died last month.

He also bred the US stakes winner Giada Vegas by Scat Daddy.

opened her account when winning a Chelmsford novice stakes by six lengths in December and was second to Silva - who faded into eighth behind Divine Image on Thursday - in the UAE 1,000 Guineas on her only other start.

The filly is out of the stakes-placed Ishiguru mare Sure Route, a daughter of the unraced Gulch mare Shore Light, a half-sister to four stakes performers headed by the Grade 3 Iroquois Stakes scorer Motor City.
