Godolphin was notably active at last month’s Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale and there should be expectation of some form of return when the auction-topping Kingman filly lines up for her racecourse debut at Windsor on Monday.

Sheikh Mohammed’s presence at Park Paddocks was followed by seven juveniles being signed up for the royal blue colours, with the 850,000gns for the newly-named Divine Spirit leading the way.

Anthony Stroud, on behalf of Godolphin, battled off a succession of interested parties to land Tally-Ho Stud’s daughter of Queen Mary runner-up Shyrl. One who impressed judges in the preliminaries, she represented a huge pinhooking triumph as she had been picked up from the Tattersalls December Sale for only 92,000gns.

The operation has already unveiled a successful acquisition from the sale in the 300,000gns Night Of Thunder colt Expressionist, who won in promising fashion at Ascot a week ago.

Both horses have been placed with Charlie Appleby, who also has the second top lot, a 575,000gns Invincible Spirit colt now named Visible Charm, entered in several races later in the week.

Divine Spirit is set to take on 12 rivals in the Sky Sports Racing On Sky 415 Fillies' Novice Stakes and victory would almost certainly confirm her place at Royal Ascot.

Among her rivals is another hefty buy from the same sale in Pink Sands, a No Nay Never filly now in the care of Bermuda Thoroughbred Racing and William Haggas.

She was another canny pinhook by Star Bloodstock, who was bought for £40,000 at Goffs and required a final bid of 230,000gns by John and Jake Warren in the ring.
