Divisions one and two of the five-furlong fillies' novice auction stakes at Beverley on Thursday delivered first winners for freshman sires Ivawood and Supplicant.

Iva Go, by Coolmore-based Ivawood, made all to land the first race and justify odds of 2-9 after she finished second on debut at Redcar earlier this month.

She held on by a neck from the strong finishing Azteca, who narrowly failed to become a debut winner for Bearstone Stud first-season sire Fountain Of Youth.

Iva Go makes all to win second time out

Baileys In Bloom scores on her debut

The Tim Easterby-trained Iva Go was bred by the Enliven Partnership out of the winning Dansili mare Enliven, who in turn is out of the Fasliyev mare Aurore, a member of the illustrious Wildenstein 'A' family of Arcangues and Aquarelliste.

Enliven is now two winners from her first two foals, Iva Go's year-older half-brother Windy Guest (by Toronado) having scored at Chelmsford last October.

Iva Go was bought by Easterby for just £4,000 from the Catridge Farm consignment to the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale.

Ivawood, a son of Zebedee out of a half-sister to Royal Lodge Stakes winner Berkshire, won the July and Richmond Stakes and was a nose second in the Middle Park Stakes at two and took third behind Gleneagles in both the Newmarket and Curragh 2,000 Guineas at three.

His fee at Coolmore this year is €5,000.

The second division of the maiden was won by Supplicant's daughter Baileys In Bloom on her debut for Richard Fahey. Despite going badly left at the start she stayed on well to score by half a length from the Swiss Spirit filly Ruby Wonder.

Baileys In Bloom is owned and bred by Baileys Horse Feeds founder and managing director Paul Venner, who also owns Supplicant and, having stood him at Petches Farm Stud in Britain for one season, now stands him at Haras des Trois Chapelles in France.

Supplicant, a Kyllachy brother to high-class miler Penitent, was bred and raced by Cheveley Park Stud and scored in the Mill Reef Stakes at two.

His first crop produced only a handful of foals but in Baileys In Bloom – who is out of the Listed-placed Holy Roman Emperor mare Golbahar – he could have a useful performer on his hands.
