£370,000 Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival sale-topper set for Navan debut
Well-related mare is out of a winning Hernando half-sister to Don Cossack
The £370,000 Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale topper Kudasheva will make her debut under rules at Navan on Sunday for Henry de Bromhead, with the daughter of Pour Moi debuting in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle (12.50).
Bred by David Connors, the four-year-old was a 12-length winner of her sole point-to-point for Pat Doyle at Ballycahane in March before selling to De Bromhead during the Cheltenham Festival.
The trainer said at the time: "She's a gorgeous filly and came highly recommended by Pat Doyle. She's for an owner with horses in the yard and we were delighted to get her."
Kudasheva is a half-sister to French winners Damiro and American Run, with the trio being out of the winning Hernando mare Daboya, herself a half-sister to 2016 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero and six-time Grade 1 winner Don Cossack.
Don Cossack, a son of Sholokhov who also struck in the Punchestown Gold Cup, Melling Chase, Down Royal Champion Chase, John Durkan Memorial Chase and Drinmore Novice Chase, won 16 of his 27 starts for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown.
Kudasheva, who will sport the silks of Peter Davies, is set to face 25 rivals on her hurdling bow.
Among them are Willie Mullins and Cheveley Park's Grangeclare West, a nine-length winner of his sole bumper in May 2021 and a £430,000 purchase from Ballyboy Stables at the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale in 2020.
The son of Presenting is a half-brother to Coeur Joyeux and from the family of the smart Gunner Welburn.
Another notable opponent is My Trump Card, a Shantou full-brother to Grade 1 winner Airlie Beach who will sport the Bective Stud silks having sold to the team for €230,000 from Peter Nolan at the Goffs Land Rover Sale in June 2021.
In a fascinating race packed full of quality pedigrees, the Elliott-trained My Trump Card is joined by stablemate Firm Footings, a winner of his bumper at Galway in October on his second start.
Another six-figure purchase when selling to Andy and Gemma Brown and Joey Logan for €220,000 at Goffs Land Rover, the son of Walk In The Park is a half-brother to five winners including Grade 1-winning novice chaser Monalee.
