Anglesey winner Marie's Diamond among latest lots for Goodwood Sale

Saturday's Anglesey Stakes winner Marie's Diamond heads a further five entries who have been accepted for the inaugural Goffs UK Goodwood Sale, which will be held after racing in the winner's enclosure at the Qatar Goodwood Festival on Wednesday, August 1.

A total of 12 lots have been accepted for the sale so far, comprising three broodmares, eight horses in training and a breeding right to leading young sire Showcasing.

The most recent horses that have been accepted for the sale are:

Lot 1 Perfect Angel, a four-year-old filly trained by Andrew Balding who won a valuable maiden at Glorious Goodwood and was placed in the Mill Reef Stakes at two and was second in the Hackwood Stakes last season at three.

She is out of the Listed-placed mare The Hermitage, making her a sister to the classy two-year-old Angel’s Hideaway, who placed fourth in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot before running second in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes on her last start.

Perfect Angel is in full training with a BHA rating of 97 and will be offered with a breeding certificate.

4 Marie's Diamond, a two-year-old son of Footstepsinthesand trained by Mark Johnston and raced by Middleham Park who has won three of his six starts including the Anglesey Stakes.

He also finished runner-up in the Railway Stakes last month.

Marie’s Diamond is BHA rated 106 and holds a provisional Hong Kong rating of 82.

7 Flying Dragon, a juvenile colt by War Command trained by Matthieu Palussiere. French-bred and from the family of Chichicastenango, he placed on his only start at Chantilly this month.

11 Malakeh, a lightly raced three-year-old filly by Footstepsinthesand trained in Germany by Henk Grewe.

She was a Listed winner in April and went on to place second in the German 1,000 Guineas before finishing third in the Group 3 Meilen Trophy on her most recent start.

From a black-type family, Malakeh is a half-sister to the Listed winner Smokey Storm and Listed placed Di Stefano.

12 Weeping Wind, a seven-year-old Oratorio mare who will be sold with a Harzand colt foal at foot.

She is a half-sister to Group 1 winner I'm Your Man, Listed-placed Sacrifice My Soul and Ragazza and the Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed mare Perfect Hedge, dam of the high-class Called To The Bar.
