Every year in the UK 10,000 men will die from prostate cancer. We have already lost too many wonderful individuals from the world of racing and other sports to the disease, which is why we believe this is an effort worth making and a partnership worth supporting.
This is the first time we have aligned ourselves with a charity and have set a target figure of £100,000 which we hope to raise over the course of the year, through a variety of different initiatives and events and we need your support. This is why Racing Post will be calling on all readers in the fight against prostate cancer. We need your help, little or large and ask that you too make The Prostate Cancer Charity your charity for 2012.
Most of us know someone, or someone's partner, who has been affected by prostate cancer and it is
important for men to be aware of the disease, because awareness makes early diagnosis more likely.
Fund rasing is also important and I welcome the Racing Post's adoption of The Prostate Cancer Charity
as its charity for 2012 and
wish the initiative well.
As someone who has experienced prostate cancer myself, I welcome the Racing Post's adoption of The PCC
as its charity for 2012. Many of you will know someone with prostate cancer and it is important for all
men to be aware of the disease, because early diagnosis can make a big difference. Fund raising is
important, too, and the
initiative has my good wishes.
As someone who has had prostate cancer myself, I know how important it is to be diagnosed as early as
possible, because early diagnosis can make a big difference to the chance of a cure. I was fortunate
enough to have been diagnosed early, which may have saved my life. It is important that men are made
aware of the disease, and know when to approach their doctor for advice. So I welcome the racing Post's
initiative, and wish it well in raising awareness and funds to
support the valuable work of The Prostate
Cancer Charity.
