Vettel 2-1 for more pole success at Silverstone

WHILE most of the Formula One teams are still struggling to come to
terms with the quirky behaviour of Pirelli’s 2012 tyres, Sebastian
Vettel seems to have their measure and is eyeing his third pole
position in a row this weekend at the British Grand Prix at
Silverstone.

The Red Bull ace also looked set for a dominant victory in Valencia
last time until an overheating alternator brought his car to a halt.

Bookmakers seem happy to take him on, with a best price of 3-1
available for Vettel to win on Sunday, when a mixed weather forecast
may affect the race result.

Saturday has the brightest forecast, and Vettel is 2-1 to be fastest
in qualifying for the third time in four years at Silverstone.

Coral offer 9-4 that British trio Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and
Paul di Resta all finish in the top ten in front of their home fans.

That scenario would have come about in Valencia had Hamilton not
collided with Pastor Maldonado on the final lap.

Marussia test driver Maria de Villota was conscious in hospital on Tuesday night after sustaining life-threatening head and face injuries in a freak accident during testing at Duxford aerodrome yesterday when her car collided with a stationary team support truck.
