Torres favourite to score first Sky goal
EURO 2012 Golden Boot winner Fernando Torres is the 7-2 favourite to score the first goal live on Sky Sports this season.
Chelsea's first opponents are Wigan – Sky are broadcasting two live games on Sunday August 19 and are showing Manchester City's clash with Southampton after the Chelsea match – and Latics striker Franco Di Santo is a 9-1 shot to score the first live Sky goal.
Torres was often left on the bench for Spain in Ukraine and Poland but by taking the top-scorer prize he ensured it will be remembered as a successful tournament for him and he is expected to be confident in the early stages of the season.
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is 20-1 to score the first goal on Sky with Saints striker Ricky Lambert an outsider at 80-1.
Mario Balotelli is favourite to be the first player sent off live on the channel at 10-1, after being sent off four times in his first two seasons at the Etihad. Balotelli netted 13 times in 23 appearances for City in the 2011-2012 season.
