Tired Mickelson eased to 16-1 for US Open success

PHIL MICKELSON has been pushed out to 16-1 for the US Open after
withdrawing from the Memorial Tournament following the first round.

Lefty hit a miserable 79 at Muirfield Villiage and cited fatigue as his reason for cutting his challenge short, although he and playing partner Bubba Watson were annoyed by the use of camera phones
by spectators.

The second major takes place at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, starting on June 14.

Ross Fisher enjoys a two-shot lead over Lee Slattery in the Wales Open at Celtic Manor after a second-round 66.

Fisher is 12-5 to complete the job with Chris Wood, who is three
behind, at 10-1.
