Playing at White Hart Lane has become a handicap with the fans in a mutinous mood since Harry Redknapp’s departure, so a trip to Reading might be right up Villas-Boas’ street.

Reading are an open team, the kind of side who create chances but concede even more and that extra class that Spurs possess in attack should make the difference.
