The Euro Zone - day six

WEDNESDAY'S MATCHES

Holland meet Germany and defeat against their old rivals could see the World Cup finalists eliminated from the European Championship in a section which is living up to its group of death tag.

The Dutch are under pressure after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Denmark and they are outsiders to get back on track against a German side who opened up their Group B campaign with a narrow 1-0 success over Portugal.

That means Cristiano Ronaldo and Co are also in desperate need of a result and they are at least strong favourites to overcome the Danes, who are looking to shock the world just like they did when lifting the trophy in 1992.

Best bet

Portugal were so unfortunate to lose 1-0 against Germany in their opening Euro 2012 contest on Saturday and a similar level of performance could see them take maximum points against Denmark. There can be no question the Danes were lucky to beat Holland 1-0 and they still have much to do before securing qualification.

Longshot

Take a chance on Lukas Podolski scoring the opening goal against Holland. Podolski had four attempts against Portugal and is clearly ready to adopt a shoot on sight policy and the left winger could get joy with the Dutch looking weak in the full-back positions.
