Song sale leaves Arsenal 8-15 to miss top three

ARSENAL lost another key member of their team when Alex Song was sold to Barcelona on Monday and Hills are offering 8-15 about the Gunners failing to nail down a top-three Premier League finish this season.

The Gunners, who opened up with a 0-0 home draw with Sunderland, are also available at 1-4 to continue their trophy drought although the Emirates exodus could be over for the summer if the odds are correct.

It’s 7-2 that another Arsenal player leaves for a fee of £10m or more and there is not a great deal left for other clubs to take. Theo Walcott, who is in the last year of his contract, would probably be the most likely player to land the bet, while a couple of European clubs are sniffing around Nicklas Bendtner and Andrei Arshavin but Arsenal would do well to get such a large fee for either of those two.

Meanwhile, Song will face a fight to get into Barcelona’s star-studded midfield which was once again on top form as the Catalans beat Real Sociedad 5-1 on Sunday to move into favouritism for the La Liga title.

Having been 6-5 before a ball was kicked, Barca are now evens to retain their crown, while odds-on ante-post favourites Real Madrid are out to 6-5 following their disappointing 1-1 home draw with Valencia.
