Penalty heartache for GB

ENGLISH football fans are well used to seeing their side exit major tournaments in agonising penalty shootouts and Team GB suffered the same fate in their quarter-final clash with South Korea on Saturday.

Daniel Sturridge was the unlucky one as GB lost the shootout 5-4 in Cardiff after the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

South Korea took the lead through a long-range Dong-won Ji strike early in the game before Aaron Ramsay converted one of two spot kicks GB were awarded in the first half.

South Korea will now face 1-2 tournament favourites Brazil in the semi-finals but with GB's women eliminated at the same stage there will be no football medals for the home nation.

Olympic men's football (best prices): 1-2 Brazil, 6 Mexico, 7 Japan, 10 South Korea.
