Seagulls 5-2 for play-offs spot after Reading defeat
BRIGHTON are 5-2 in bet365's betting on which teams will be involved in the Championship play-offs after losing 1-0 at home to second-placed Reading on Tuesday night.
The Seagulls stay in seventh spot, two points behind 8-11 Cardiff who occupy the final berth currently with four games to go.
Blackpool, 2-9 shots in the list, are two more points ahead of Brighton and fourth-placed Birmingham, seven points clear of the Seagulls but 12 points shy of Reading, are 1-50 to feature in the battle for a Wembley berth and the third promotion place.
Reading's success drew them level with Southampton at the top and took them six points clear of third-placed West Ham.
The Hammers are now 1-7 to be in the play-offs while the Royals and Saints are 6-1 and 16-1 respectively to slip out of the automatic spots into post-season berths.
Like Brighton, Middlesbrough, Leicester, Hull and Derby will not have given up all hope of being involved in the play-offs.
Eighth-placed Boro, level on points with the Seagulls, are 11-4 to sneak in while the ninth-placed Foxes, a further point back, are 5-1.
In League One, fourth-placed Huddersfield and fifth-placed MK Dons are considered bankers to be involved in the play-offs.
But the battle for an automatic spot alongside Charlton - presuming the wheels don't suddenly fall off the Addicks title charge - between two Sheffield sides looks set to go to the wire.
Sheffield United moved into second, two points above Wednesday, with their 5-2 win at Rochdale so the Owls are 4-11 for the play-offs and the Blades are 2-1.
And the fight for sixth spot is far from over too.
Notts County, 5-4 for the play-offs, currently hold it on goal difference from 11-10 Carlisle. However, 7-1 Brentford in eighth are three points back and 12-1 Stevenage are six adrift.
