Sawgrass king Kuchar 14-1 to follow up in Texas
MATT KUCHAR is a general 14-1 with bookmakers to immediately put the celebrations, distractions and no doubt leg-weariness of winning the richest prize in golf - the Players Championship - last Sunday behind him and triumph in the Byron Nelson Championship that starts on Thursday.
However Kuchar, advised for Sawgrass success at 55-1 by Racing Post golf guru Steve Palmer, is behind Phil Mickelson and Adam Scott in the betting for the spoils after the four days at TPC Four Seasons.
Mickelson is an 11-1 favourite while Scott has been backed into 12-1 from 14-1.
USPGA-winner and defending champion Keegan Bradley is an 18-1 shot and then it is Jason Day, at 20-1, and Masters runner-up and former Open king Louis Oosthuizen and Jason Dufner at 22-1.
Palmer also recommended a wager on last week's European Tour winner Ricardo Santos at 80-1.
Santos was an unheralded local hero in the low-key Madeira Islands Open.
This week several of the continent and wider world's very good - including six Major winners - line up in a field of 24 battling for the Volvo World Match Play.
Martin Kaymer is a 7-1 Finca Cortesin-favourite with Sergio Garcia at 9-1 and Ian Poulter and Justin Rose at 10-1.
Charl Schwartzel is 11-1 with Graeme McDowell, Nicolas Colsaerts and Peter Hanson at 14-1.
