Rodgers' Reds 6-1 to be top North West club

WITH BRENDAN RODGERS all but installed in the Anfield hotseat, BetVictor and Hills have issued a series of Liverpool specials.

The Reds are 10-3 with BetVictor to win one trophy this coming season (40-1 to win two or more and 1-5 for a barren campaign) and 6-1 to finish as top North West club in the Premier League (with Manchester City evens favourites, United at 11-8, Everton at 20-1 and Wigan at 500-1).

The firm also make Liverpool 13-8 shots to finish fifth or sixth in the top flight (with first to fourth and seventh to tenth 9-4 joint-second favourites in their list) and ask them to give up 10.5 points to Everton in a 10-11 choice league match bet. The Toffees were seventh and the Reds eighth (four points back last season).

Hills make Rodgers 1-4 to last the season (11-4 not to) and 1-2 to lead Liverpool to a high league finish than last year (13-8 lower, 8-1 finish eighth again).

The firm have also drawn up a set of prices for potential new Reds signings from Rodgers' previous club Swansea.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, who starred on-loan from Hoffenheim last term, is 7-2 to secure a switch to Liverpool while Scott Sinclair is 7-2 to swap the Liberty Stadium for Anfield.

A third midfielder in Leon Britton and defender Ashley Williams are both 6-1 to make the move and forward Danny Graham is 7-1.

Not to make the move prices are available too.

Swansea, who finished 11th last season, have been clipped for relegation - 5-2 is now the biggest available - while the Reds are 40-1 with Betfred and Blue Square for a first title since the inception of the Premier League.

Rodgers’ replacement looks set to be Wigan assistant manager Graeme Jones, who has worked alongside Roberto Martinez since March 2007 when he linked up with him at Swansea.

Jones's odds in the next Swansea manager market quickly
contracted from a best-priced 6-1 to 1-5.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is considered the most likely alternative and he was available at 5-1 on Thursday night.

Wigan might have to find a new assistant manager but they seem to be winning the battle to keep hold of their manager Martinez.

The Spaniard was interviewed for the Liverpool job but, according to chairman Dave Whelan, he has commited himself to the club for next season.
