Rhinos 7-4 for regular season after third defeat
SUPER League champions Leeds yesterday suffered a third defeat in six matches this season, going down 26-20 at Huddersfield.
The Giants, who started as six-point underdogs at the Galpharm, move up to third while Leeds remain adrift in seventh, though they have been eased only fractionally, from 11-8 to 7-4, for the regular-season title.
St Helens and Warrington are joint-second favourites for the regular season at 9-2.
The Saints beat Crusaders 37-30 on Friday while the Wolves continued to set the pace with Wigan after bashing Bradford 33-8 onSaturday.
Wigan, 48-24 winners over Hull on Friday, are a standout 13-2 with Boylesports who are still 14-1 about Huddersfield. However, Betfred are just 13-2 about the Giants.
Salford moved off the bottom of the table with their first win of the campaign, a 26-22 triumph at Harlequins, who now prop up the table. “I am hoping this is the catalyst for us,” said City Reds coach Shaun McRae.
The Reds are still favourites with the layers though to finish bottom at 11-10 with Bet365 and Hills.
Quins are 11-4 with Bet365 and Stan James, who are biggest at 7-2 about the Crusaders.
