Recovering Bent 7-2 to make Roy's Euros squad

ENGLAND manager Roy  Hodgson doesn’t have much time to settle on a squad for Euro 2012 and he has been urged by Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish to consider the merits of striker Darren Bent, who is recovering faster than expected from ankle surgery.

Bent looked set for a summer on the beach after sustaining a
season-ending injury in Villa’s 0-0 draw at Wigan in February but McLeish yesterday insisted that his top scorer is making good progress.

The comments persuaded Hills to trim their quote on Bent
making the Euros from 4-1 to7-2 although they go 1-6 that he misses the plane to Ukraine.

Kenny Dalglish will be looking to secure Liverpool a second piece of silverware in Saturday’s FA Cup final but his long-term future looked even more uncertain in the wake of Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Fulham.

The result left Liverpool three points adrift of Merseyside rivals Everton, who strengthened their grip on seventh with a 1-1 draw at Stoke.
