Plunge on Walker to be named PFA Young Player

KYLE WALKER looks in pole position to claim the PFA Young Player of the Year award after he was backed from 33-1 to 5-6 with Hills, who have now suspended betting on the market.

The firm reported that a punter in a Leeds shop wanted £1,200 on the Tottenham right-back winning the award, which prompted them to suspend.

Hills' spokesman Joe Crilly said: "This is a market in which the
outcome is predetermined and while the majority of punters who want a genuine bet outweigh those that already know, unfortunately we think we may have inadvertently foundout the winner of the Young Player of the Year.”

Walker, nominated alongside team-mate Gareth Bale, Sergio Aguero, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, appears likely to become the first player to winthe accolade for Tottenham since Glenn Hoddle picked up the award in 1980.
