Murray 11-4 for 2012 Slam after agonising loss
ANDY MURRAY is 11-4 with bet365 to win a Grand Slam this year after agonisingly losing out in a brilliant five-setter against world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open semi-finals on Friday.
Murray was beaten 6-3 3-6 6-7 6-1 7-5 in nearly five hours, ensuring his search for a first major continues as Djokovic prepares to face Rafael Nadal in Sunday morning’s final.
Ladbrokes have most faith in Murray, making him 6-4 to break his duck this year, though the Magic Sign aren’t betting the other side and Hills are as short as 2-9 that he draws another blank. They are 11-10 that he wins one during his career and
4-6 that he doesn’t.
Murray is 20-1 fifth favourite (Blue Square) for the French Open in May and his next big chance is likely to come at Wimbledon, where he is 7-1 to triumph.
Boylesports are now biggest at 7-10 about Djokovic winning back-to-back Melbourne titles and a third in five years while Nadal is 11-8 with Blue Square to triumph for a second time in Australia's sporting mecca.
Nadal's 2009 victory was a five-set spectacular with Roger Federer and four or more sets in the final is 2-5 with BetVictor.
