Mahut delivers blow to Murray Wimbledon prep

ANDY MURRAY’S Wimbledon preparations suffered a blow when he was beaten by Nicolas Mahut in his first match at Queen’s Club on Wednesday.

Mahut, tipped by RPSPORT’S Scott Samuels at 7-1, came through in a final-set tie-break as Murray, who had been affected by a back problem in the French Open, again struggled with his movement.

Andy Roddick was another notable casualty as he lost in three sets to Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

The exits of Murray and Roddick have made an already poor line-up even weaker, with most of the quality on show in Halle, where Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer start their campaigns on Thursday.
